Travel Education

2026-03-18

Travel is the best education.

Better than Harvard. Better than anything you can find in school.

Living overseas is the best education you can get.

So if you love learning as much as I do, this is the way to do it.

You don't need to spend 4 years in classrooms and libraries in the same location. Whatever books you're trying to read, you can take them with you. If there's a lecture you need to watch, that's online too.

And it will all cost so much less. With room and board at an institution, I'm sure half will cover food and shelter on your journey. And tuition costs? Wow, you will save a ton of money, and have greater experiences, in nature, with friends, discovering new things.

Even say a language class at your university, meeting 3 hours a week with textbooks and tests. Take that money and buy a plane ticket. Go to where everyone speaks that language. Make friends. You will have learned so much more, in a much shorter time, and have had amazing moments, new friends and stories.

Or a history class. Go to the place where the event took place. There should be a memorial, with names and dates. You can feel the air and see the mountains around it. You'll remember them more.

And museums. You can learn more in 2 or 3 hours there, walking and witnessing, than 2 or 3 months sitting at a desk. You can breathe history. It will leave a lasting impression. It will inspire you to investigate more.

When I look back on my college years, the best parts were the friends I made, deep conversations, and the inspiration to learn more. I could get all that 100-fold on the road. Plus, the food in the cafeteria sucked and the room was dingy.

$25,000 per year? Better spent abroad.
