I'm here.
I left my solid life in Taiwan with all my friends and memories and support and familiarity and language and made the big jump of moving to another country and starting all over again: friends, memories, support, familiarity and language. What a challenge. What a move!
Within the first week I knew I had made the right decision. The right city. The right sharehouse. Most of it is luck. The hardest part was finally making up my mind and going for it. The rest is getting figured out as I go along. Which is scary.
Every day I've been waking up so happy to be here, but then instantly fearful that it will end, and soon. Because so far I'm here on a tourist visa and a steadily dwindling sum of money. No job. No work visa. No reason for them to let me stay.
But that's what I need to do: find a job.
If I had known how everything would work out, and all the steps ahead, it wouldn't be much of an adventure now, would it?
Part of the journey is finding the way. Actually, that is the journey!
I left my home with a backpack and a dream. And now I'm here.
Just gotta keep going.
Onward, and upward!
